Festival Overview

The Voices of Exile Festival was created by Ryan Hugh Ross in partnership with the 

Rediscovered Beauty : Suppressed Composers™ Organisation

and Southwest Minnesota State University 

The festival took place during the week of October 24th, 2016

and included vocal masterclasses, a lecture given by Ryan Hugh Ross titled 

A Legacy in Exile: The Life and Works of Julius Burger,

A Chamber concert including a World Premiere of Julius Burger's Vier Lieder,

A panel discussion with distinguished guest- Ronald Pohl - friend and curator of Burger Estate

&

The Orchestra Concert which included the US Premiere of Julius Burger's

Two Songs for Baritone and Orchestra
